Charleston was absolutely amazing. We arrived mid day Saturday (didn't exactly make my 5:00 am departure time). When we arrived we wandered around the city for a little while, taking in the atmosphere and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We went back to a restaurant we knew had a rooftop patio and hung out there for a little while as we waited to get the keys to the house we were going to be staying.
This house was so cute. It was a great size and accommodated everyone and everything perfectly. We actually were invited down to Charleston by a friend of ours and his family so we were grateful that we had our own room and space. The house was about 2blocks or so from Isle of Palm beach so it was absolutely perfect.
I learned a valuable lesson, my skin is not as resistant to sunburn as it used to be. Not wearing sunscreen the first day was probably not a great idea, but I didn't get too bad. We spent most of our days on the beach or playing tennis and just enjoyed being with friends and being away from home. I did learn to play bocce ball, which is actually a pretty fun beach game. I think I may invest in this for my next beach trip (JUNE 10, for my bestbud Manda's 24 birthday!!)
Monday was J and my 2 year anniversary. It was perfect. i didn't want to do anything crazy, just wanted to have some time that he and I could spend together alone, so we spent the day on the beach and then got ready for dinner. J did some research and found this really cute place Atlanticville. It was sooo good. I had duck for the first time and he had scallops (which i didn't hate). It was such an amazing dinner, if you are ever in that area I highly recommend it.
J and I then took a late night stroll on the beach. It was a perfect night. He has really been such a blessing to me these past two plus years. I am a very lucky girl and cant wait to see what is to come for us.
Now I'm preparing for a weekend of some downtime and then some trips for work and fun. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

I...need...a...break
I'm exhausted, my head hurts more often than it should and my to-do list does not get any shorter. I need a vacation, yesterday, but I guess going on one in 3 days will suffice. In 3 days I will be lounging on the beach and taking in the sunshine in Charleston. Partially to just be with friends and enjoy one of my favorite places, but also to celebrate/enjoy J and my 2 year dating anniversary. (We arent usually one to celebrate, but this trip kinda fell in our laps and happened to be on our (or what we assume as our) dating anniversary.
Ahhhhh, I can feel the sunshine now, either that or my body is starting to get fed up with all the work stress and will explode soon.

Thankful
Can I please tell you how thankful I am for my bible study group? This is one set of girls that were truly brought in my life to teach me something about myself and about friendship. I know I can rely on these girls for anything, share my most raw emotions, and know that not only do they care, but that they often times understand and can relate in one way or another. They open my mind to other possibilities, to different viewpoints, and most importantly to how the things going on are shaping me in to the woman that I am meant to be. They are a true blessing.
In a world where we all have so many things to do, so many responsibilities, so much to deal with, its nice to know that each week I have the opportunity to sit down with these girls and just talk about life, struggles, concerns, God, and focus on whatever new lessons we learned this week in our study.
They are great friends to me, and I can only hope I am just as good a friend to them.
Now this does not discount the other friendships I have, the friends that have been with me through so much, through so many life changes. I am so blessed by the people that have been brought to my life. I cannot wait to see where their lives go and where my life goes in the next few years. I'm excited for the trials and tribulations because I know no matter what, I have a network of friends that will be there to support me through it all.
On that note, I miss my out of town friends. I need to catch up with them soon, a blog post just isnt enough sometimes :)

Well, I survived...
I officially survived moving! Yay!
Since I was moving on a weekday, and my dad and poor bf had moved me less than 2 months before, I figured I would do this one solo. Well sort of solo, I did hire those movers to carry everything down the stairs, to a truck and to my new place... But I did unpack everything by myself :).
I spent my Monday hanging curtain rods (I think I have a new love of power tools), organizing and reorgnaizing when I found more stuff that needed a space, and unpacking box after box after box. Despite all the work, I LOVE my new place. I never thought I would like living alone, but it's actually really nice. And of corse, I'm not actually alone, I have my sweet Maggie back home!
Tuesday my living room furniture was delivered, and despite the delivery man's skepticism, it all fit through my front door and looks so cute. It's such a precious little space. My new home with all my stuff and no one elses, that is such a crazy thought.
I haven't taken pictures yet, since I haven't officially finished, but I will I promise. I have some pictures to hang and need little accessories to go randomly around the house. I also need a living room TV and lamps. If I keep thinking I could probably come up with 100 other things I need too. Ahh moving is expensive and you realize all the little things you dont have and want/need when you are finally alone. I have some work to do getting all that together in an affordable way :)
In other news, Natalie's (my cousin) Bachelorette Party was such a great time. While many of the girl's ended up bailing, the rest of us had such a great time. It was a lot more low-key than my usual Bachelorette party, but it was fun all the same! I want to go back to the beach now, good thing Im going to Charleston in 16 days!!
